Yassin & Rafael

Can you introduce yourselves?

Yassin: My name is Yassin Tabla, 32, and a married father of 2 daughters. After my training as a system & network engineer at Thomas More Geel, I became an intern at Formica, focusing primarily on the Elastic stack.

Rafael: I’m Rafael Prade, 26 years old. I’m originally from Germany, but I’ve been living in Belgium for over 18 years. I went to school at the European School of Mol and afterward I graduated as a system & network engineer at Thomas More Geel. After my internship, I started working full-time at Formica NV.

Why did you choose Formica & what are your ambitions?

Yassin: One of the main reasons why I chose to work for Formica, was because of the pleasant working atmosphere with my colleagues and because I’ve been given time and space to develop myself during my internship.

Another reason is that Formica gave me the opportunity to learn new technology like Elastic, in which I want to specialize to obtain certificates like the elastic certified (observability) engineer.

Rafael: I chose Formica because I enjoy the lovely working environment. Also, Formica is at the forefront of upcoming technologies of which I’m convinced they’ll turn out to be valuable skills in the future.

What strikes you the most at Formica?

Yassin: The amazing thing at Formica is, you’re never left hanging on your own.

Rafael: Experience at Formica is very personal and you feel to be part of a big team, who are ready to help you improve your skills.

What do you think of your colleagues in Oeco and Cronos?

Yassin: Till now I’ve only met my direct colleagues at Formica NV, fun people I can enjoy a chat with. Because I’ve only recently started at Formica, I didn’t have the time to meet any colleagues from Oeco or Cronos. I hope that’ll change in the near future.

Rafael: In my short time at Formica, I’ve met plenty of interesting firms which are part of the Cronos group. Every single person I’ve met is very excited and passionate about what they do.

Would you recommend friends to work at Formica?

Yassin: I would definitely recommend Formica to friends, classmates, and colleagues because of the positive company values and the work-life balance.

Rafael: I would, and have recommended Formica to other people, because I believe this company has a huge potential as it provides its employees a good work-life balance, company values & technical challenges.
